My designs and furniture reflect my passion for fine form, simplicity and excellent craftsmanship. My work is clearly classic with a modern sensibility. My work also shows the influences of Twentieth Century design styles including Art nouveau, Deco, Scandinavian, and Asian. While maintaining it’s originality the grace of simple design and outstanding craftsmanship is apparent in each piece.
The creative process begins with numerous drawings to analyze an idea and shape it into a piece of furniture. Each piece is built individually in my studio using traditional and time tested joinery from materials that are carefully selected for each project. I search through stacks of lumber to find just the right pieces to express and enhance the design.
Hand shaping, sanding and finishing is what creates a final product that is of exceptional quality designed to last for generations.
I come from a family of artists and craftsmen reaching back many generations, but my training in woodworking comes as a result of interning and working with other craftsmen and along with a number of architectural designers and builders over the last 3 decades.
